What Meta charges for WhatsApp messages
Two separate bills, Meta’s per-message rates for Pakistani numbers, what each message category is, and a month worked out.
Updated 30 October 2026
Running WhatsApp on the official API means two bills. Your Connectify plan pays for the software. Meta charges for the messages your number delivers and bills them directly to your own WhatsApp Business Account; Connectify adds nothing on top.
Meta charges per delivered message, and only for messages from your business to a customer. Messages customers send you are free. The price depends on the category of the message and on the country of the customer’s number.
Rates for Pakistani numbers (+92)
| Category | What it is | Per delivered message |
|---|---|---|
| Marketing template | Offers, sales, new arrivals: most broadcasts. | $0.0473 |
| Utility template | Order confirmations, delivery and payment updates. | $0.015 |
| Authentication template | One-time passcodes. | $0.015 |
| Service message | Any normal reply inside the 24-hour window, whether your team, a flow or the AI agent sends it. | $0.015, after 1,000 free a month per number |
These are Meta’s USD list rates from 1 October 2026. Meta changes its rates only on the first day of a quarter (1 January, 1 April, 1 July and 1 October), and its rate card lists every country. Utility gets cheaper above 150,000 messages a month and authentication above 100,000; marketing and service messages have no volume discount.
A month, worked out
A shop that sends 3,000 replies in the inbox (team and AI agent together), 1,000 order confirmations and two broadcasts of 1,000 customers each, all to Pakistani numbers:
| Messages | Count | Meta charge |
|---|---|---|
| Service replies | 3,000, of which 1,000 free | 2,000 × $0.015 = $30.00 |
| Utility: order confirmations | 1,000 | 1,000 × $0.015 = $15.00 |
| Marketing: broadcasts | 2,000 | 2,000 × $0.0473 = $94.60 |
| Total | $139.60 |
Messages inside a free window that a click-to-WhatsApp ad opened cost nothing, in every category.
